Two parallel worlds, overlapping within the same space.

A territory that is simultaneously a small village of fewer than 300 inhabitants and a natural habitat: fields, gardens, and forest edges. Growing up there, animals felt like neighbors to me, although some remained far more discreet than others.

A few years after I began photography, I was looking for new subjects beyond the landscapes I photographed during holidays — subjects I could practice with more regularly. Turning towards wildlife felt like a natural choice.

Years later, I no longer live in this village; the house is now for sale.

This series portrays my childhood neighbors during a key period in my photographic development.
