"Candor — While Nothing Happens"

This series was photographed in Candor, the small rural village where I grew up and spent my entire childhood, a place where nothing ever seems to change. The starting point was a simple challenge: to create something from the most ordinary place possible, somewhere I knew by heart, and to look at it with fresh eyes.

The aim was not to capture decisive moments, but to photograph duration — those moments that stretch slightly beyond an instant, where time itself becomes perceptible. Within quiet and static compositions, small elements briefly interrupt the stillness: a passing car, birds, the wind, the light. Something remains, while something passes.

The village is treated as a constant backdrop. Movement appears and disappears. The sequence is not narrative but rhythmic — suspended between calm and disruption, without a clearly defined beginning or end.
