"Elsewhere"

In public spaces, bodies cross paths but gazes turn away: each person immersed in their own screen, connected elsewhere yet absent from the present moment.

Shot in black and white, the series draws from the aesthetic of another era, creating a contrast with the omnipresence of smartphones. This visual tension reinforces the paradox of our time: being surrounded yet alone; connected, yet disconnected from the immediate world.

In some images, a slow shutter speed emphasizes the stillness of figures absorbed by their phones, frozen inside their digital bubbles while the world around them moves and flows.

In others, a fast shutter speed captures the precise moment when the subject, still in motion, appears to oscillate between two worlds: the physical and the digital.

Through this series, I aim to portray isolation within the crowd and the tragicomic nature of our dependence on smartphones.
